The Computer Training Center, Hackerspace, Ngozi Leather and The Keep are still not only still in business, but are thriving and are completely operated by our Ugandan team. This is no small statement. I never imagined when we first set “sail” for Uganda more than ten years ago that we would report a DECADE anniversary of any of our programs. These were small ideas that were designed to try fill various needs we saw in the community. Our Ugandan family has taken those small ideas and they’ve taken off with them, and now they are thriving!
Thank you to Joshua, Teo, Latifu, Nimeri, Anderson, Peter, Jackie, Sara Mama Kathy and Mutesi at the CTC, Johnson at the leather shop and the entire team at The Keep Cafe. You guys are truly amazing. We love you and miss you dearly. Thanks also to our donors and supporters that have made this dream become a reality. We couldn’t have done it without you.
As a small token of our appreciation, our amazing volunteer Aleks threw a Christmas party at The Keep for the team. Thank you Aleks for your kind and generous heart! We’ll report more about his amazing work there in the days to come.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!
Johnny and Jen and the rest of the Long clan!
