HFC Leather Program: “Ngozi Creations”
Our leather working program was founded by HFC, but we’ve outgrown this space. We have a portfolio page and an Etsy shop which showcases our products (when they are available). Please check out those sites for more current information.
Background:
In September of 2012, we started a fledgling leather project to help fire victims in a local village gain skills and find employment. After quite a few fits and starts, we revamped the program and began anew. You can read more about the history of the program here.
Now, our training program is supporting sixteen Ugandans full-time. Twelve of our craftsmen work in their home villages, and four work in our workshop in an intensive training program.
Our product offerings include iPhone cases, iPad cases, journals, tumblers, coffee mugs, shot glasses and more. All leather items are hand-tooled.
Currently our products are mainly sold in Uganda (primarily at The Keep cafe) and at various security conferences in the US.
If you have any questions, please contact us. We’d love to hear from you.
