We met the Wismers last month as guests in our home. Recommended by our friends the Jacobsens, we learned about their organization, Connect Abanna. The Wismers told us casually about their plans to buy computers for the teachers at their schools and train them in IT so they could teach the students. Of course we were in the perfect position to help, so we did. Over the past month, I’ve worked with them to secure four laptops for their teachers and get them loaded with RACHEL. Today, they came back through Jinja to pick up their computers and begin free training at our Computer Training Center.
They are thrilled with their new laptops (from Pacific) and even more thrilled with the RACHEL package we installed.
It’s been an honor serving the Wismers and Connect Abanna with logistics, training, housing, meals and simple things like leading them around Jinja (they’re from Mityana).
